Back on My Feet D.C. launches Monday, March 22nd

On Monday, March 22nd, Back on My Feet Washington D.C. officially launches.

  • Gear Fitting -- Sunday, March 21st – 10 am to 12 pm [PHOTO]
    The 40 members will be going to Pacer’s Running Store in Clarendon (3100
    Clarendon Boulevard; Arlington, VA 22201) to get fitted for running shoes, which
    will be donated by Pacer's. They will also receive their BOMF running gear.
  • First D.C. Run -- Monday, March 22nd – 5:45 am [PHOTO]
    BOMF will have its official first run with four teams made of members experiencing
    homelessness and non-residential members (or ‘volunteers’), all of whom will run
    their first mile from the following four shelters: Emory House, SE Vets, 801 East and
    Clean and Sober Streets. We are encouraging media interested in covering
    the first run to film at Clean and Sober Streets (425 2nd St. NW). We will
    meet at the corner of 2nd and E streets.
  • Sneaker Breakfast -- Monday, March 22nd – 8 am- 9 am
    The Inaugural Back on My Feet Breakfast in Your Sneakers Presented by the
    Washington Marriott on 22nd and M NW. More than 300 individuals, including 15
    members, will be in attendance at this kick-off event where Anne Mahlum, founder
    and president, will speak as well as David Grissen, President of the Americas for the
    Marriott and a member of the BOMF D.C. Advisory Board. Additional sponsors
    include Accenture; Stroehmann’s; PricewaterhouseCoopers; Akin Gump Strauss
    Hauer & Feld LLP; KPMG; Washington Sports Clubs and more.
  • Sneaker Day -- Monday, March 22nd - all day
    BOMF is celebrating its launch in DC all day long with more than 50 companies
    participating in one of its signature events – Sneaker Day. Employers will be
    allowing their employees to wear Sneakers to work for a $5 donation to BOMF.
